The Eastern Facial Massage covers the theory of acupressure points and how to locate and work the points. The massage routine is in several parts and incorporates various movements designed to give your client a complete holistic experience.

Japanese Hand Massage is a massage of the arms and hands and is a unique blend of shiatsu and reflexology. The course covers the techniques of applying pressure in the correct points on the hands and arms to restore the flow of energy, leaving the client refreshed and renewed.

The Indian Head massage course covers the relevant anatomy, but the majority of time will be spent on the routine itself. The massage involves various strokes and techniques which are traditionally accepted. The routine also includes some more modern movements specifically designed for computer stress.

The Thai Foot Massage course incorporates a combination of acupressure, energy meridian work, plus elements of shiatsu and reflexology. Japanese Hand Massage Diploma Course

Japanese Hand Massage is a massage of the arms and hands and is a unique blend of shiatsu and reflexology. It has its roots in ancient Oriental medicine. The philosophy underlying the massage is that vital energy (Qi in Chinese, Ki in Japanese) flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. If the energy stops flowing then this can product symptoms of illness or discomfort.

This course will teach you the techniques to remove the energy blockages include gentle holding and pressing with palms, thumbs and fingers on the meridians.

The new course, which is offered through association with the Guild, provides students with a Guild accredited home learning programme which is fully supported throughout the course.

The online A&P course includes Marlin's excellent 216 page full colour text book ‘Anatomy & Physiology for Holistic Therapists' plus an online learning system which includes extra learning materials, websites links and online quizzes for you to complete. You study the manual at home, and then log on to the online system to review any extra material and complete the quizzes.

The online learning system has integrated email support, which is given by the authors of the course manual so you really will get helpful, knowledgeable answers. The course book is not only available in paper form, but for an extra £30 you can also get an audio book on CD. Listen at home, in the car, etc. There is also a large print version of the book for visually impaired students!

All you need is a computer with a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari and Adobe Reader for pdf files. So, if you can surf the internet you can take our course!

The online course questions are all multiple choice or similar. The computer instantly marks each set of questions and your total score is revealed. You need a score of 75% or more to be successful.

You take the course at your own pace - everything is submitted online and the system keeps track of all of your scores so you can monitor your progress. If you cannot complete a module on the first attempt, you do get a second attempt. If you still cannot pass your tutors will contact you to offer support before you make a final attempt.

It builds on knowledge provided in our Introduction to Holistic Massage Certificate course and is a must for therapists wishing to offer full body treatments.

After being awarded this Diploma, students will be able to obtain insurance to practice full body Holistic/Swedish Massage commercially.

Course notes will be forwarded to you before the attending the course and there will be a knowledge test on the day.

The two day course will comprise a recap of relevant A&P, plus the other theory required to become a professional massage therapist, including consultation, contra-indications, aftercare and the history and benefits of massage.

This two day course is more advanced and intensive than our Introductory Certificated course and will include additional movements. A complete body routine will be fully covered and a practical assessment will be held at the end of the course.
